The team meets once a week on Monday afternoons for 1 hour to plan advertising, promotions, and publicity that will help achieve mutually agreed upon goals for Recreation Services.

Team members are compensated for meeting attendance and for the time it takes to complete various assignments identified at the meetings. Our team consists of a 7-9 person mix of students from all class years, majors, and backgrounds. Who is the Team?!

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Marketing Team Leader (Chair): [no vacancy]

Recreation Services’ Marketing & Media Team is looking for someone who can manage a team and has the drive to lead us through successful marketing campaigns. The Coordinator will create and schedule any type of content not being completed by the rest of the team and track goal progress to keep the team on task. The Coordinator also acts as the team’s administrator, monitoring the annual budget as well as creating the agendas for weekly meetings. The time required for this position fluctuates between 3-4 hours per week, including the weekly meeting. We need a person who is creative, organized, team-oriented, and outcomes-focused.

Marketing Team Leader (Vice Chair): [1 vacancy]

Recreation Services’ Marketing & Media Team is looking for someone who is ready to grow as a leader and assist the Marketing Team Chair in managing the team. The Vice-Chair will shadow and assist the Chair as they schedule content for the team, track goal progress, monitor the annual budget, and co-create weekly agendas. We need a person who is creative, organized, team-oriented, excited to learn, and outcome-focused. The time required for this position fluctuates between 3-4 hours per week, including the weekly meeting.

Graphic Designer: [no vacancy]

Recreation Services’ Marketing & Media Team is looking for an artistic, creative, and skillful Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer will create, edit, and organize content for the team. The content will be posted on behalf of Recreation Services across various electronic media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, OurCampus, etc.) in addition to being printed on traditional mediums (e.g. flyers, lawns signs, banners, etc.). The creative work includes applying graphic design skills to create new content, editing existing content, and uploading files to the Shared Google Drive. We need a student who is a creative thinker, team-oriented, and outcome-focused. The time required for this position fluctuates between 1-3 hours per week, including the weekly team meeting where you will get your assignments and contribute to an overall strategy.

Recreation Services’ Marketing & Media Team is looking for a photographer. This person would be in charge of capturing on-site department programs and activities (e.g., GroupFit classes, Intramural Sport games, etc.) and editing photos for use in various print and digital media. This person should also have access to their own equipment (e.g., camera, lenses, etc.) and will need to use DropBox or Google Drive to share content. We need a student who has a creative eye and is focused on composition and understands lighting. The time required for this position fluctuates between 1-3 hours per week based on projects assigned and including the weekly team meeting.

Social Media Specialist: [seeking 1]

Recreation Services’ Marketing & Media Team is seeking a Social Media Specialist. The specialist will focus on analyzing engagement on team promotions and developing content that appeals to our primary audience. This responsibility also includes managing outreach on social media to build this audience. The individual seeking this position should be interested in researching and tracking trends on social media platforms while using a creative approach to adapt trends for our campaigns. The time required for this position fluctuates between 2-3 hours per week, including the weekly team meeting.

Videographer/Video Editor: [no vacancy]

Recreation Services’ Marketing & Media Team is looking for a Videographer/Video Editor. The Videographer would be in charge of recording on-site department programs and activities (e.g., GroupFit classes, Intramural Sports games, etc.). After recording, this person would be responsible for editing the material into a variety of short-form advertisements for the Team to post on behalf of Rec Services across various platforms. The Videographer should have previous experience with video editing and will need to use DropBox or Google Drive to share larger content files. We need a student who is creative, goal-oriented and focused on production. The time required for this position fluctuates between 1-3 hours per week based on projects assigned and including the weekly team meeting.
