Sam Borg

Sam oversees our aquatics programs, coordinates intramural sports, and is the primary contact for our equipment loan program. His office is in room 207B (on the pool deck) in Weinstein Natatorium at the Kirby Sports Center.

Sam grew up in a small town in southern Illinois, where he began his journey in aquatics as a lifeguard and swim instructor. His passion for athletics and art led him to earn a B.F.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2024. While at SCAD, Sam worked as an Assistant Trainer, helping new students get acclimated through fitness orientation programs.

Most recently, he served as a Recreation Coordinator at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, where he trained lifeguards and oversaw bicycle rental operations. Sam holds active certifications in lifeguard training and strength & conditioning, bringing a strong foundation in team leadership, safety management, and guest service.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys working out, reading, and cooking. He has competed in a variety of sports, including baseball, kickboxing, and powerlifting. Experiences that have instilled in him the values of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork, all of which he applies to his professional life.
